In April 1943 Manfred George telegrams that Aufbau intends to send a telegram to prominent world leaders articulating solidarity in mourning for the victims of axis brutality, and appealing to the addressees for a message of consolation and encouragement to the Jewish people; Werfel's annotation on the reverse indicates his intention to endorse the telegram.
